Checking toe on my 1987 ford f250 DIESEL

I was learning and experimenting for the first time with Jeff's homemade aligning tools. These straight edge pieces of aluminum were designed to go up next to the tire, not the bulge or rim and make it able for one person to check the toe. It turns out that my truck was exactly specification 1/32nd of an inch. I also learned about how to use string as a very inexpensive and effective way of checking alignment.
